Every wedding has it's own spin on things but not quite like Nicole and Kenny's wedding! I had wanted to have a tattooed bride as a client after meeting some awesome brides that were inked up. Nicole not only enjoys the art form for her own body but is also the owner of Dollhouse Tattoo in South Jersey. Maybe she's created your tattoos!
Anyway, thankfully, I was introduced to the couple by a cousin of Nicole's whose wedding I had documented previously. I knew from my initial meeting with Nicole that I wanted to work with her. She's an artist, she has pink hair, she's super cool and her and Kenny have a lot of ink! AND she was going to be the first bride of mine that had a lot of ink:)
I knew we would have a great time together and we most certainly did!!
Here are some of my favorite images from Nicole and Kenny's wedding day:
Getting Ready
Kenny and the guys were seriously chill early in the day as were Nicole and the girls. Nicole's feline babies made it interesting to get some pics with their Mama but we finally made it happen.
A Message from the Bride
Where do I begin?? Ralph was incredible from the moment I inquired about my wedding.
He shot a friend’s wedding and I loved the photos and meeting him made my decision even easier.
He and his team are not only incredible photographers, but also super professional while keeping such positive, and fun attitudes!
My wedding photos are pristine. There aren’t strong enough words to express how happy we are with them!
I would recommend Ralph and his team a million times over!!!!
Bride and Groom
Nicole's Uncle lent the couple a bad ass Vintage car to drive! I was in heaven with the car, the ink, the hair and how awesome everyone was!
Wedding Party
This bridal party was hysterically funny and really helped keep things loose!
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony and reception were held at Luciens Manor in Berlin NJ. The ceremony was non traditional and had several unique moments. For example, Nicole was escorted down the aisle by her Dad to the tune of Saosin's "Seven Years". It was an instrumental version but the song is so perfectly Nicole and Kenny! You're not going to hear that one at many weddings my friends!
Wedding Reception
I loved the unique little touches like the skull vase for Nicole's flowers, the hockey stick guest book and the song they chose for their first dance together Hozier's "Work Song".
...there's nothing sweeter than my baby
I'd never want once from the cherry tree
'Cause my baby's sweet as can be
She give me toothaches just from kissin' me.
The music underneath the words is a dark, moody contrast to the almost trite lyric...and it's awesome because of it!
