Hurricane Joaquin thankfully decided to make a right turn before it got to the New Jersey coast last weekend so we didn't get the full force of the storm. We did however, get a LOT of rain!
Usually when it rains on a wedding day, the bride and groom will be open to running outside for a quick photo or two and then want to finish the photos inside or at the very least, underneath something outside. I called Jennifer and Colin the day before their wedding to discuss a Plan B for shooting locations since the forecast was calling for non stop heavy rains. Much to my surprise, Jennifer said that she was "embracing the rain...there's nothing we can do about it so I'm not going to let it bother me". There's definitely a life lesson in what Jennifer said and it absolutely paid off! There were a ton of laughs while we were out shooting, people congratulating Jennifer and Colin with a partially sincere, partially "are you guys insane for being out in this weather!" tone. I thought it was awesome that they were fearless and just dove right in and enjoyed it!
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. Considering the amount of rain that we got that day, Jennifer and Colin should have enough to last a lifetime...congrats guys!!
