DIY Wedding | Lauren and Kevin

We had a perfect day with Lauren, Kevin and 150 of their closest friends and family at Lauren's Aunt's Something Special Stables in Jobstown NJ. The picturesque scenery on and around the property turned out to be a gorgeous backdrop for the entire day! Among the many personalized touches from this DIY wedding were dozens of signs, centerpieces and games created by Lauren/Kevin and their families, they had an old school ice cream truck come out for the kids and everyone was encouraged to take a walk to the beautiful stables that were the home to half a dozen horses. It was such a warm, very chill atmosphere all day, you couldn't help but feel like one of the family!
After some getting ready photos (including some fun shots of Lauren in a fantastic old wood tub!), we moved outside for the ceremony. Deep blue skies, white fluffy clouds, rolling hills and green trees surrounded the ceremony site, it was a stunning! One of the many things I loved about the ceremony was the inclusion of a wine box ceremony. A wine box ceremony is a wedding ritual in which during the proceedings of the wedding ceremony, a bottle of wine is enclosed into a box. Some couples opt to add an extra layer of meaning within the ceremony by including love letters to one another (which Lauren and Kevin did) alongside the wine. The couple will then designate a specific occasion (such as a future anniversary) when the box will be opened and the wine will be drank. It was a really wonderful way of capping off the ceremony.
Now that they were the new Mr. and Mrs. Evans, we took a stroll around the acres of property we had at our disposal. We had a blast making the first images of Lauren and Kevin as husband and wife and captured some beautiful moments along the way!
Thanks so much to the Urbanski and Evans families for having us join you and document such a special day!!
